The Rex Monto

Our History

The Rex Theatre is a historic building in the centre of Monto’s shopping strip and CBD. Built prior to 1930 with an authentic art deco style. The building has a heart and soul connection with the local rural community. It was a place of unique rural connection; first dates that became life-long marriages, where teens of the 70’s smuggled contraband in the loose canvas seats and the kids of 90’s scraped their knees roller skating.
